Drone Swarm
This started as an experiment to see how far, and how quickly one could get with “vibe coding” with chatGPT, cause, who’d have time to do this otherwise? Inspired by Look Mum, No Computer’s 1000 Oscillator Megadrone project of a synth with 1000 oscillators, a bit by Hainbach’s test equipment videos as well as my Wavetek signal generator, it has a fairly simple architecture that can produce some pretty dense and evolving drones. And once I’d sorted out routing browser audio into Ableton, using VoiceMeeter, it opened up a huge number of possibilities.
Besides being able to create as many banks of as many oscillators as you’d like, you can take snapshots of your current settings, change them, take another snapshot and then sequence those snapshots with a morph between snapshots. There’s midi, distortion and reverb and you can save a session. I’ll create a gallery of sessions later. Enjoy and please let me know how you find it….
