Rim Visuals
Tim Hill (Rim Visuals) is one of those artists toiling away in the background, who’s been honing his craft as a musician and digital media artist (aka vj) for the past 35 odd years, without much of a inclination for self-promotion.
Musically intricate, influenced by Eno with a love for drones and an often twisted sense of humour… He’s worked extensively with Vancouvers Dave King (Longwalkshortdock) as both his VJ and musical partner as the much beloved Hibernator. He’s also recorded with Phil Western (Download, Philth – RIP) as Frozen Rabbit, with Andrew Van Hassel, Spaceship Graveyard and Borkum Riff (myself, Tim and Jason Filipchuk – we had one epic gig at Eye of the Storm).
As a VJ, his first gigs were with our ambient collective, Teamlounge as well as HQ Communications (pioneering drum n bass promoters in Vancouver) and then went on to tour extensively with Skinny Puppy, longwalkshortdock and most recently Strange Advance. As well, he’s been making videos for Bill Lieb, Delerium, Peter Murphy & Boy George, for Metropolis Records, and probably some others he’s forgotten to mention. And thanks to Hallmark, he’s become an expert at Christmas decorations and running Set Deck crews on shoots such as that classic xmas familly favorite, Never Kiss A Man in a Christmas Sweater.
